Spring 2023: Renting & Buying Trends

Well, we haven’t posted here since May and “up North” it has been a busy and challenging time. Lucy and her owners will be back in Spanish Springs in the first quarter of 2023.

I have noticed a rising number of rental cancellations, so if you’re looking to come to The Villages in the Spring of 2023, I can’t say it enough to a) check ALL of the web sites where people post their homes for rent and b) keep looking weekly/daily! The real estate market for buying a house also seems to be softening a bit. There is more inventory on the market, although prices seem to be high relative to a year ago. The rising interest rates for mortgages is double-edged sword as inventory becomes available. My suggestion is to align yourself with a good agent telling them your needs and desires and for them to be patient. But, be ready to pounce if you see your dream house.
