In The Villages, the subject of Pickleball deserves its own page (in addition to golf!)
Pickleball is a hugely popular activity and there is a “process” you need to follow to enjoy the sport and all the neighborhood leagues. With over 200 pickleball courts, the Villagers can play year-round, attend clinics and participate in tournaments.
Locations
All of the Pickleball courts can be found through The Villages Recreation & Parks group web site or weekly tabloid. The courts have also been logged into the database at The Global Pickleball Network <HERE>.
The Program and Learning
The Villages Beginner Pickleball Program, put on by the Pickleball Community Volunteer Group, is designed to teach residents how to play the paddle sport through a variety of instructional classes. The program features PB100, which involves both a classroom session and a court session; PB101 (Introduction to Pickleball), Beginner Practice/Drills; PB102 (Strokes) and PB103 (Essential Strategies).
Pickleball Groups
Many of the pickleball groups are self-started by neighbors
