You will often hear the term “Inside The Bubble” referring to the multiple county area that is actually inside The Villages. But, there is plenty to do OUTSIDE the “bubble”
The Villages runs a shuttle bus frequently to the Orlando (MCO) airport. There are also many private drivers that advertise through The Village Daily Sun newspaper classified ads.
But, likely more importantly for Villages 101 learners is the fact that just about every type and brand of retailer exists within minutes of The Villages. And, don’t forget that many brands exist within TV or just at the edge (e.g. grocery stores, drug stores)
Along Rt 441 on the Eastern edge of The Villages is full of major brand retailers including:
- Walmart
- Lowes
- The Home Depot
- Bealls
- Staples
- BestBuy
- BJ’s club (coming soon; Costco is further away near Orlando)
Further South, serving the newer neighborhoods of the Villages including South of the Florida Turnpike, there are a number of growing areas.

Dining Nearby
There is an abundance of “chain” restaurants on the periphery of The Villages as well as a number of spots for lunch or dinner outings. See the Dining page <HERE> for some ideas.
