LUCY’s Notes: If you are planning on coming to explore The Villages for just a few days (or even one day), your BEST option is to find a HOTEL in The Villages. There are a good number of hotels located in the three main town squares. So, see a list of hotels. It’s a lot better and easier than trying to rent a house for just a few days, and not many property owners cater to very short-term renting. You can always rent a golf cart daily from The Villages Golf Cart stores. Be sure to book a cart reservation when you book your hotel.

Need to know:
- Call 800-346-4556 to contact The Villages Sales office and make a reservation; or use the online form
- They will host you for 4-7 nights in a house based on season and availability. All accommodations are non-smoking. Prices are based on double occupancy and subject to change
- The current (as of Jan 2026) pricing is February & March $199/night | April $179/night | May-September $129/night
What you get:
- a well-appointed 2 bedroom / 2 bath home fully furnished (just like an extended-stay hotel)
- a golf cart (it’s the ONLY way to experience The Villages)
What you need to bring:
- Clothing, obviously! Think dressing in multiple layers, check the weather forecast. The Villages is typically “snappy casual” especially for restaurants. See this list
- You can rent golf clubs, pickleball rackets, etc at almost all the pro shops or rec centers. Just call in advance if questioning
- A smartphone loaded with The Villages App. The dedicated golf cart GPS app is also recommended
When you arrive:
- You can get to The Villages via air to Ornaldo (MCO) or Sanford (SFB) and can either rent a car or use the shuttle bus. You should inquire with your Villages salesperson when reserving your lifestyle visit.
- At the sales office, be sure to buy the large-sized paper maps so you can fully understand the size and locations of town squares, sports venues, shopping, etc. You can explore specific places within The Villages using this interactive map.
