The Villages Daily Sun reported (11/2/2025) that there are now 801 holes of golf here in The Villages. That’s amazing.
And, that total keeps going up. The Woodlands Championship course will open in the Fall of 2025, plus two more executive (9-hole) course scheduled to open in 2026.
The Villages “officially” opened golf on October 1, 1985 (I thought it was a lot earlier than that) with 9 holes at Orange Blossom Hills. The back 9 wasn’t completed for another 2 years. The 9-hole Hilltop course was added shortly thereafter.
There have been 2.9 million rounds of golf played
There have been 2,713 holes-in-one recorded
